The Kutztown Folk Festival, the oldest continuously operated folklife festival in America, takes place July 1 – 9, 2023. This annual event focuses on the traditions of the Pennsylvania Dutch, with a wide variety of food, activities, crafts, and entertainment for the visitor to enjoy.
A large quilt sale and auction are one the the event’s main attractions. The festival’s Quilt Barn displays over 1,200 traditional handmade quilts and wall hangings, which are all available for sale. The annual Quilt Auction is held on the second Saturday of the Festival each year.
Food options at the Kutztown Folk Festival include vendor stalls with favorites such as local sausage, pot pie, corn fritters, funnel cake, apple dumplings and shoo-fly pie. You can also enjoy full-course Pennsylvania Dutch meals at one of the festival’s two restaurants.
Kutztown is located in Berks County, PA, between Allentown and Reading. The festival is held at the Kutztown Fairgrounds (450 Wentz St, Kutztown, PA).
